"There is no such thing as 'target fixation' .... falling in love with that pretty, glowing & oh so convenient gunsight is how people fly into the target. You just don't fly into something your are looking at & concentrating on"

I will have my Father get on here and join FighterPilots.net.   I don't have all the dates and squadrons of his career, I will let him put that down.
But I would  like to be a member. I have a huge LOVE for Jet fighters and the brave men  that flew them, and the crews that took care of them.
How many people can actually say when they see a jet fighter scream over their head, "My Dad did that"... I am very PROUD to have had that experience in my life!   Thanks Dad!

Raised on USAF bases, father career USAF, but not active or retired, a bad eyes washout.  However, though unworthy, am currently damned proud to serve as the Honorary Squadron Commander for the mighty Bushmasters of the 78th FS at Shaw AFB. Acft experience listed above, but have owned & flown a T33 (first acft owned)in Thunderbird colors on the airshow circuit for the past 10 years.  Specialty, trying to keep the acft. out of the dirt (FMITH)& burying the pups that are dumb enough to get off the porch with Weed.    SH website, I recognize a couple of outstanding American warrior-patriot pards already in roster, Del Linge & Jack Broughton. Doubt I make the standards, but if pud-knockers are accepted sign me up, just remember you asked for it.

Now this ain't no bull, long ago and far away, some 4500 men with an average age of 19 manned a 963' aircraft carrier with dozens of combat aircraft deployed and turned certain parts of North Vietnam into a lovely mess. And that ship wasn't the only man o' war there. It was the best of times and the worst of times. Wouldn't take anything for the experience, would you?
