For purposes of discrimination, a "Fighter" is defined as a
heavier than air, fixed-wing craft that has (or had) some form of destructive or
offensive purpose, (including 'electronic' or for fighter training); has a
"G" loading capability of not less than 7.33 G's clean; is manned by
one pilot but may have other 'offensive or defensive' crewmembers; routinely
flies upside down or does aileron rolls; and has a designation that includes
"F", "A", or includes some other accepted Fighter prefix
such as the G91 or MiGxx. Note: some Fighters were manned by two
pilots (F4C in Vietnam), but the 2nd pilot was employed in weapons
delivery and not primarily piloting (although both are Fighter Pilots!).
Now, if your favorite craft does not satisfy this criteria, and you insist
that your bird qualifies as a 'fighter', then send your explanation (and maybe a
picture) for liberal consideration. For instance, the T-33 was originally a
Fighter and was also used in Fighter Training for many years, and so would
qualify.
